THE SHELTER
The Vulpot Shelter, located in the Malciaussia part of the municipality of Usseglio, offers accommodation services, a bar, and dining. It is a stage stop for the GCA (Grand Crossing of the Alps), a resting point for all hikers and walkers in the area heading towards the Susa Valley and France. It is situated at the foot of Rocciamelone, at an altitude of 1805 meters.
The facility, nestled in a mountainous landscape with breathtaking views of Lake Malciaussia, offers its guests 12 rooms.
Guests can also take advantage of the half-board service with excellent dishes typical of the tradition and rich breakfasts or snacks.

Bogdan and Valeria, who have been running the facility since 2022, handle the hospitality, finding the best hospitality solution for your needs and giving you valuable tips on how to best enjoy the scenic beauty of the area.

RESTAURANT
The cuisine showcases the typical products of the area.
The restaurant offers boards of cold cuts and cheeses; the unmissable traditional or "concia" polenta to pair with sausage, boar or beef; first courses based on fresh pasta and game or mushrooms; typical soups; braised meats.
Everything can be accompanied by a good wine from the Surbone winery or a beer.

BAR
The bar, always open with continuous hours, prepares delicious breakfasts and offers a good selection of coffee, even "corrected" ones, and some snacks.
Additionally, stuffed sandwiches and ice cream.
There′s no shortage of tea and herbal teas, hot chocolate, grappas and bitters, beers, non-alcoholic beverages.

OUR HISTORY
Domenico Ferro Famil, known as Bertu Vulpot, an alpine guide from the Usseglio area, took over the management of the local establishment (formerly a border guard barracks stationed in Malciaussia) in the 1930′s and gave it the name "Albergo Vulpot". Subsequently, his son Renzo took over and the place was renamed Rifugio Escursionistico Vulpot.
Over the years, it has become a GCA post, a point of reference for mountain lovers and hikers.

TEAM
- Ileana Bruno and Gianni Furlan have been the owners of the property since 2005
- Bogdan Alexandrescu and Valeria Liberti have been managing it since 2022
